As riders, we are aware or our extra vulnerability on the road and this event gives us the opportunity to make sure our local ambulances are better equipped than they otherwise might be. Better equipped ambulances for riders are better equipped ambulances for all road users. This is also a great way to raise all road users awareness of motorcyclists, as this time of year bike numbers on our roads start to increase. All money raised through this event will go directly to the Rural Ambulance Service.
MICA Paramedic Mark Fisher from RAV has identified and advised us that Lakes Entrance Auxiliary would be worthy benefactors of our efforts this year. Our goal is to hopefully provide them with enough funds to purchase at least an ETCo2 ($5,500) or 12 Lead ECG machine ($6,000)
We have been amazed and very thankful for the support of local businesses, with many having donated items for prizes or offered their services in promoting and conducting this event. Further donations or assistance will be most welcome. East Gippsland has some iconic destinations for motorcyclists and as a group we are important to local economies.
